UZIN UTZ, the Ulm-based manufacturer of flooring installation materials, has acquired a stake in Gropyus, a company specialising in modular construction systems. The investment marks a strategic move into industrialised building methods, where prefabricated modules require tailored flooring solutions with specific installation requirements. Gropyus develops timber-hybrid modular systems for residential and commercial buildings, where screed, adhesives and surface preparation products must meet tight tolerance specifications and accelerated construction schedules. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. The partnership could position UZIN UTZ to develop application-specific products for the growing prefabrication sector, where material performance under factory conditions differs from traditional on-site installation.
