Wood fiber insulation material manufacturer STEICO recorded disappointing business figures in the first quarter of 2026, which the company attributes in an ad-hoc notification to persistently unfavorable weather conditions. The harsh winter months have delayed construction starts and dampened the expected spring revival in demand for wood fiber insulation materials and engineered wood products. For planners and building material dealers, this means another postponement of market recovery, which was already absent in 2025. STEICO thus faces the challenge of reassessing its annual forecast under volatile conditions.
