Mapei has hired Leon Sempfle as regional manager for the ceramic sector. The personnel decision indicates a strengthening of ceramic tile adhesive distribution in Germany. The market for tile adhesives and grout is under sustainability pressure: manufacturers are working on CO2-reduced formulations and must in future provide EPDs for all product lines. Whether Mapei will also push sustainable product innovations with this new appointment remains to be seen.
