The former President of the German Olympic Sports Confederation, Alfons Hörmann, is taking over as sole managing director of Schöck AG. The move from sports to the construction industry is unusual: Schöck produces thermal insulation constructions and impact sound insulation – technically demanding building components with high relevance for energy efficiency and GEG compliance. It remains to be seen what strategic reorientation Hörmann will pursue, particularly with regard to the increasing EU taxonomy requirements for construction suppliers.
