Pump manufacturer Wilo has expanded its assistant app to include hydraulic balancing according to method B. Unlike the simplified method A, method B works room-by-room and takes into account individual heating loads – a prerequisite for BEG subsidies in heating system renovations. Since the amendment to the Building Energy Act (GEG) in 2023, hydraulic balancing has been mandatory when replacing boilers to demonstrate efficiency classes. The app is aimed at SHK installers and is intended to replace manual calculation of volume flows and thermostatic presets. With this, Wilo is addressing a bottleneck: many specialist companies shy away from the computational effort – even though without balancing up to 15% more heating energy is consumed.
