Austrian wood processor Binderholz is planning an investment of 90 million euros in a new facility in Finland. The expansion into the Nordic market aims to develop additional raw wood sources and expand production capacity for timber products – a segment that is growing across Europe due to increasing demand for timber construction systems and CLT elements. Finland offers strategic location advantages through its sustainable forestry and short transport routes to Northern European markets. For planners, the capacity expansion will mean more stable availability of solid wood construction timber (KVH) and laminated veneer lumber in the common strength classes C24 and GL24h in the medium term.
